The IPL 2026 Auction is a venue where excitement, surprise, and some cleverness from franchises have been ample. While some franchises have moved ahead aggressively on some popular players, there have been some steal deals that may prove to be decisive in the season. Here is the list of players that were roped in for the prices that were surprisingly low, making them likely to be among the hottest steals of this IPL 2026 auction. Steal Deals of IPL 2026 Auction David Miller - Delhi Capitals (₹2 Crore) Image Source: MB Media/Getty Images The first player who was sold in the IPL 2026 auction was South Africa’s David Miller. It was an incredible bargain purchase deal for Delhi Capitals. A seasoned finisher in the middle order was purchased for his base price of ₹2 Cr. There was no competing bid from any other team. Miller, 36, so evidently, he is not that young in terms of players in the auction, but his finisher skills and composed temperament are always valuable attributes in T20 matches. The owners of Delhi Capitals were satisfied after clinching this deal. The middle-order solidity has been an issue with the DC squad in the last few years. The team lacked a suitable replacement for Harry Brook in the absence of the latter in the IPL 2025 season. Miller will prove to be the perfect replacement in this regard. The team will greatly benefit from his expertise in managing crunch situations during the IPL 2026. The franchise, which struggled their opening combinations last season secured the English opener Ben Duckett at his base price of INR 2 crore. Duckett has been in a decent form in T20s in 2025. In 20 innings, he has scored 443 runs at a strike rate of 142.44. With DC looking for an attacking and experienced opener who can open the innings with Rahul, Ben will be the perfect pick. Quinton de Kock - Mumbai Indians (₹1 Crore) Image Source: BCCI The South African Wicket-keeper batter was released by Kolkata Knight Riders at the end of IPL 2025, but his recent performances made his bid quite unexpected. The wicket-keeper batter became a part of Mumbai Indians for just ₹1 Crore. The Proteas opener is familiar to the Mumbai Indians camp. The player has been a part of the Mumbai Indians’ successes in the past and is well aware of the playing conditions at the Wankhede Stadium. This will give the Mumbai Indians an automatic opener in case they choose to go along with him. De Kock is only 32 years old and has a lot of cricket left in him. In fact, he has a rich record in the IPL having played 115 matches in the tournament in which he has aggregated a total of 3,309 runs while maintaining a strike-rate of 134.02. Getting a cricketer like him in the Mumbai Indians squad in ₹1 crore is a huge gain. Akash Deep - Kolkata Knight Riders (₹1 Crore) Image Source: BCCI India's right-arm medium pacer Akash Deep, who fetched around 8 crore in the previous auction, remained unsold in the first round of IPL 2026 Auction. However, his name appeared in the accelerated round where he was roped in by the three-times champions Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price INR 1 crore. Akash had pretty decent year in Test cricket. The pacer bagged a total of 13 wickets in 3 Tests against England. His performance in Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has also been upto the mark. With such decent form, Akash Deep was expected to get a better bid from the teams in the auction. KKR securing him for just 1 crore is no less than a steal deal as he will assist his fellow mates such as Mustafizur Rahman and Harshit Rana. Jacob Duffy - Royal Challengers Bengaluru (₹2 Crore) Image Source: Zimbabwe Cricket Jacob Duffy, a fast bowler from New Zealand, has bagged his first-ever IPL contract as he was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2026 mini-auction that took place in Abu Dhabi. Jacob Duffy, who has been a regular face in the white-ball squad of New Zealand, finally got a ticket to IPL as he went unsold in his previous attempts and got picked during the accelerated auction rounds. Jacob Duffy has not played a single IPL match yet and thus might debut in IPL 2026. RCB's transfer could prove to be a master stroke. Duffy comes with impressive international stats, ranked second in the ICC T20I bowling charts currently. In 38 T20I matches played, he has bagged 53 wickets at an impressive average of 17.06, making it evident that he is a skilled bowler who knows how to handle the new and death bowling too. At a price of only Rs 2 crores, RCB have managed to secure a quality T20 wicket-taking bowler in their bowling lineup for the IPL 2026. Anrich Nortje - Lucknow Super Giants (₹2 Crore) Image Source: BCCI Anrich Nortje, a fast bowler for South Africa, turned out to be a shrewd investment in the mini-auction for IPL 2026 as he was acquired for a price no less than ₹2 crores in Abu Dhabi on December 16. The cricketer earned a reputation for being able to deliver the ball with a speed above 150 kph. However, injuries have prevented Anrich Nortje from being consistent with performances. Nortje had made his IPL debut in 2020 for Delhi Capitals and had the best season there, picking 22 wickets in 23.27 as Delhi reached the final along with Kagiso Rabada. Post the release, he played merely two games for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 season. With a price tag of ₹2 crores, it can be stated that a world-class match-winner like Nortje could prove to be a steal deal for the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. Wanindu Hasaranga - Lucknow Super Giants (₹1 Crore) Image Source: BCCI Wanindu Hasaranga, a star leg-spinner of Sri Lanka, proved to be one of the most valuable picks in the IPL 2026 auction, with Lucknow Super Giants bagging him in the auction for a meagre sum of ₹2 crores, which is his base price. Hasaranga, who has a proven track record of winning matches in a previous event of IPL, could not be expected to fetch a bargain tag like this. Hasaranga went into the auction with a small reserve value, which did not indicate his value as a bowling all-rounder. Even though there was some interest in him as the bidding started, LSG wasted no time in getting the job. For a player who can pick wickets in the middle overs and also chip in with valuable runs in batting, Hasaranga at 2 crores is a steal in the IPL 2026 auction.
