After achieving a historic 3-0 sweep in the ODI format against Bangladesh for the first time, Afghanistan will now switch the format to red-ball and will take on Zimbabwe in a historic Test match starting from October 20 to 24 in Harare. Afghanistan have already their squad for the series, now it’s Zimbabwe who has announced a formidable squad to face Afghanistan. Zimbabwe has announced a 16-member squad for this Test match, where Craig Ervine is set to return as the captain. One of the highlights of this squad announcement is the inclusion of Belgium-born batter Antumn Naqvi, who has recently become eligible to represent Zimbabwe Cricket internationally. Naqvi, 26, was born in Brussels, Belgium and moved to Australia at the age of just four. He earned a commercial airline pilot’s license there. He has been one of the rising talents in Zimbabwe cricket, who averages nearly 70 in both First Class and List A cricket. He can bowl some part-time off-spin as well. In January last year, he became the first Zimbabwean player to smash a triple century in any representative match. Overall, he has collected 1626 runs in 26 first-class innings at an average of 67.75 and a strike rate of 72.65. In his most recent first-class outing, he scored 68 and 108, his sixth hundred in the format, for Zimbabwe A against MCC in Harare last week.
