The Bumrahphilia around the globe seems like tormenting teams everywhere, even when the star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is absent in the scene. Recently, Cricket Australia posted a video where a young bowler from Pakistan with almost similar action to Bumrah was asked to bowl to the Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell, who was batting with the kids' plastic bat, couldn't follow the line of the good-length delivery and simply got bamboozled by that Bumrah-alike. An impressed Maxwell stood there with a smile, defeated. The star pacer was initially included in India’s provisional squad but was replaced by Harshit Rana on February 11. Bumrah’s absence is a huge blow for India, as he was in top form last year, taking 86 wickets across formats. In his absence, Mohammed Shami is likely to lead the bowling attack, supported by Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. Ahead of India’s opening match against Bangladesh on February 20, Bumrah’s wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, provided an update on his recovery. Speaking to Bangladeshi all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, she confirmed that Bumrah has started training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Miraz, meanwhile, released a sigh of relief, saying Bumrah’s absence is actually good for them, calling him a "very dangerous bowler" who commands respect from all batters. He admitted getting out to Bumrah twice and acknowledged the pacer’s exceptional ability to move the ball both ways. However, he didn't forget to show respect for Bumrah, saying that every batter in Bangladesh loves him. Since his international debut in 2016, Bumrah has taken 149 wickets in 89 ODIs. His return will be crucial for India’s future campaigns.
