The Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to continue playing for Mumbai in the upcoming domestic season, reversing his earlier decision to move to Goa. The 22-year-old had recently sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to make a shift, citing personal reasons. However, in a recent letter addressed to the MCA, Jaiswal has now requested the withdrawal of the NOC and reaffirmed his commitment to representing Mumbai. In April 2025, Jaiswal’s request to leave Mumbai cricket had taken many by surprise. According to reports in The Indian Express, he was exploring the move primarily due to his family’s intention to relocate to Goa, along with the possibility of taking on a leadership role within the Goa cricket team. In his latest communication to the MCA, Jaiswal clarified that his family’s relocation has now been shelved, making the shift to Goa unnecessary. He further stated that he had not proceeded with the NOC at the BCCI level nor submitted it to the Goa Cricket Association. “I would like to inform you that I have decided to continue playing for Mumbai. My family’s plans to shift to Goa have changed, and I feel it’s best for me to continue my domestic cricket with the Mumbai team,” Jaiswal reportedly wrote in the letter. The MCA is now reviewing his request to revoke the NOC and is expected to make a formal announcement in the coming days. Jaiswal, who has already made an impact at the international level, continues to be a vital part of Mumbai’s domestic setup. His presence will be crucial for the team as they gear up for a competitive season ahead. This decision will likely strengthen Mumbai's batting line-up and add depth to their squad as they look to reclaim domestic dominance.
