Indian top-order batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal recently stated that opportunities will be his way when asked about his feelings after being left out of the Asia Cup 2025 team. Jaiswal is part of India's five standby players for the continental tournament. Jaiswal graciously left it on the selection panel for performing their task and introduced the idea of the combination of the team to clarify his position. Here is what stated Jaiswal in an interaction with Siddhaarth Aalambayan “It’s all in the selectors’ hands. They look at it from a team combination point of view. I’ll keep doing my thing and I know my time will come. Till then, I’ll keep working on myself, developing myself,” Also Read: WATCH: Jason Sangha’s stunning direct hit catches Matthew Gilkes short Jaiswal had last played for India against England in their five-match series in England. He finished with 411 runs in five matches (10 innings) at an average of 41.10 with two fifties and as many hundreds credited to his name. India ultimately drew the series 2-2. Even after stellar performances both in Test cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL), the explosive opening batsman is still to find a place in the 20-over format. The Men in Blue have preferred Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson over others for the opening position ever since Gautam Gambhir became India's head coach. Shubman Gill has also been given chances at the top, similar to the way it has been in the current tournament. All of this has been in the form of Jaiswal being overlooked from the T20I XI. Talking about Jaiswal's T20I record, he has scored 723 runs in 23 games at a strike rate of 164.31. He has hit 82 fours and 38 sixes. Jaiswal has also made five fifties and a century in the format. He recently played for West Zone in their Duleep Trophy tie against Central Zone, scoring 4 and 64 in his team's first two innings, respectively.
