Young Indian left-hander and one of the finest red-ball batters in recent times, Yashasvi Jaiswal, was excluded from India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad. This development came after India's most celebrated pacer Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the eight-team marquee event which will be played in Dubai. To fill the shoes of Jasprit Bumrah, the BCCI, added Harshit Rana, along with Varun Chakravarthy, forcing them to leave out Yashasvi Jaiswal. He was with team India till the last ODI against England at Ahmedabad. However, post the conclusion of the series, Jaiswal joined Mumbai's squad for Ranji Trophy semi-final match against Vidarbha which will be played on 17 February 2025 in Nagpur. Yashasvi Jaiswal was added to India's squad against England for the preparation of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He did make his ODI debut for India in the 1st match against England where the southpaw scored 15 runs. However, he was later dropped from the XI as Virat Kohli, who missed the series opener due to bit of discomfort in his right knee, was available for the second match. Mumbai, who raced into the semi-finals of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 after defeating Haryana by 152 runs in the quarterfinals, will enjoy the services of Yashasvi Jaiswal against Vidarbha. Jaiswal Eyes Final Berth for Mumbai Jaiswal last appeared in a Ranji Trophy match on 23rd January against Jammu & Kashmir. However, his performance in that match was not as per his caliber as the opener only managed to score 4 and 26 runs respectively in two innings.
