Priya Mishra's spellbinding overturned the match as she dismissed both Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris in succession in Match 3 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 between UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants, turning the momentum dramatically in Gujarat's favor and displaying her brilliance under pressure in a game-defining spell. In over 11, Priya delivered the key blow when she got Tahlia McGrath caught out for a duck off a disputed LBW decision. Delivering a skiddy slider on a length, she got McGrath forward in the first place before hastily retreating in an effort to contain the delivery. The ball hit her pad, and the on-field umpire had it out as the appeal went up. McGrath, though, straight away chose to review, thinking she had received an inside edge. The UltraEdge indicated a spike, but third umpire Gayathri Venugopalan took her time to make sure she was correct. After going through various angles carefully, she concluded that the ball had collided with the pad before hitting the bat, resulting in McGrath's wicket. Although the decision was a 50-50 call, the replays went on to convince the third umpire, and McGrath had to retire for a duck, which left UP in deep trouble at 74/4. Harris, who had been adjudged Player of the Match twice in her previous three games against Gujarat, wanted to tackle Mishra but was a victim of an accurately flighted delivery. Having bowled a faster one just before, Mishra tempted up this one, coaxing Harris into a slog over the line. The Australian batswoman totally missed the ball on the inside edge, and she knocked over the stumps, getting sent back for a speedy 4 from 2 balls. Mishra burst into joy, realizing the importance of this wicket, as Harris had the capability to turn the game around herself. With UP's dismissal, the Gujarat team further sunk to 78/5, leaving Gujarat in firm control of the match. She started her dominant bowling spell when she removed McGrath, trapping the Australian batter LBW with a skiddy delivery after pad-first contact was upheld following a review. Two balls later, Mishra outwitted Harris with a perfectly flighted delivery, enticing her into a doomed slog that shook the stumps. With UP already in trouble, Mishra's third wicket fell in the 15th over when she dismissed captain Deepti Sharma, who had been keeping the innings afloat with a smooth 39 from 27 balls. Attempt to quicken the scoring rate, Deepti lofted one over long-on but saw Ashleigh Gardner, completing Mishra's three-wicket haul. Her 3.6-0-25-3 spell kept UP under persistent pressure, failing to post a difficult target against Gujarat.
