The Women's T20 World Cup, slated for October in Bangladesh, will now shift to the United Arab Emirates after recent political unrest and violence in Bangladesh. The world governing body of cricket announced on Tuesday that a number of nations participating in the tournament had issued travel warnings against visiting Bangladesh, thereby rendering it impossible for the latter to go ahead and host the tournament. This month, the country was eloped by its Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, amid protests, and an interim government led by Muhammad Yunus has taken over. The ninth edition of ICC Women’s #T20WorldCup to be held in October 2024 has been relocated to a new venue. However, they will retain hosting rights. We look forward to taking an ICC global event to Bangladesh in the near future." The ninth edition of the women's T20 World Cup will be held from October 3 to October 20, featuring 10 countries. Also Read | Top 12 Women Cricketers With Most Hundreds in ODI
