The reigning champions, Australia will be in action in the UAE for the very first time on October 5, opening their Women's T20 World Cup campaign against Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka. India will get going a day earlier against New Zealand in Dubai. The tournament was taken away from Bangladesh due to the nationwide unrest that resulted in the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government this month. The Bangladesh Cricket Board is still the host of the tournament, though. The revised schedule of the tournament announced on Monday, has equally split the group-stage matches between Dubai and Sharjah. Australia will play three of their four group matches in Sharjah, while team India will play three in Dubai. A total of 23 matches will be held across two venues in Dubai and Sharjah. Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland On October 6 in Dubai, India will play against Pakistan. The first semi-final on October 17, which Dubai will host, is the one India will play if they make that stage. The second semi-final is on October 18 in Sharjah, with the tournament final also in Dubai on October 20.
