Mumbai Indians star batter Suryakumar Yadav suffered a minor injury scare during the Eliminator game against Gujarat Titans at Mullanpur on Friday. During the 13th over, play was interrupted for a brief while as Suryakumar Yadav was checked by the medical team. Post the match, the head coach of Mumbai Indians, Mahela Jayawardene, had a report on Suryakumar's status. He indicated that there's nothing to worry about and SKY is absolutely fine. Jayawardene added that he has not heard any feedback from the physios regarding anything serious. He even added that Suryakumar would feature in the next match if he had to play on one leg. Jayawardene said: "We know it’s a tough schedule for us, but I think everyone’s healthy, everyone’s fit. And don’t worry about those little tightnesses. I haven’t heard anything from the physios. I’m pretty sure that even with one leg, these boys will be playing for us. Don’t worry." Suryakumar is in his best shape this season. He is the second-highest run-getter in IPL 2025 with 673 runs in 15 matches at 67.30 average. He will play a decisive role for MI in Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings. Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Titans by 20 runs to stay in the hunt of finals. Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first, and the decision paid of well as MI scored 228 runs.
