However, he suffered from multiple injuries during his short appearance for LSG. In the 2025 IPL, he played just two matches and then suffered from a back injury. He underwent surgery post 2025 IPL, and was out from competitive cricket for six months. LSG Had earlier retained him in the 2025 Mega Auction for INR 11 crore. Mayank rose to the headlines with his 150 kmph deliveries, and had even earned two Player-of-the-Match awards in IPL 2024. Mayank, 23, is currently undergoing rehab and is reportedly close to returning to bowling. By February, he is expected to regain nearly 85% of his bowling workload, with a full comeback aimed for the IPL. Although his limited game-time raised concerns for Lucknow, the management group — director of cricket Tom Moody, head coach Justin Langer, and head of talent Bharat Arun — believed Mayank was still worth keeping in the squad. Franchise to release Akash Deep and Ravi Bishnoi LSG acquired the Bengal fast bowler Akash Deep for INR 8 crore during the 2025 IPL mega auction. However, as per the report of ESPNCricinfo, LSG is unlikely to retain him. Apart from Akash, South African David Miller and Ravi Bishnoi might suffer from the same fate. Bishnoi, now 25, joined Lucknow before the 2022 IPL as an uncapped signing for ₹4 crore. In his first season with the franchise, he picked up 13 wickets at an economy rate of 8.44 and played a key role in their run to the playoffs.
