India will be locking horns with England in the third and final match of the ODI series on Wednesday in Ahmedabad while already having an unassailable lead of 2-0. With the ICC Champions Trophy just a week away, starting from 19th February, both the teams would look to try out their preferred combinations and hope for their key players to return to their best form before heading into the mega event. Kohli's poor form- a massive concern After a horrible show with the bat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, failure in the Ranji Trophy and then missing out on the first ODI of the series due to an injury, Virat Kohli once again couldn't find big runs in the second ODI against England. Out of all the eight players that came out to bat for India in the match, the star-batter was the lowest scorer of them all and also the only one who couldn't reach double figures. What makes it worse is the fact that it was a belter of a pitch where a 300+ score was chased quite easily by the hosts. Even skipper Rohit Sharma who was struggling in the same way, scored a blistering century and was the Player of the Match while Kohli could manage a score of just 5 off 8 deliveries. Now here come a couple of disturbing stats- In the last 15 innings in professional cricket, Virat Kohli has been dismissed 10 times on single digit scores while only managing one knock of 40+ which was his century in Perth, Australia. This string of low scores would be a huge concern for the team management and Kohli himself. Kohli amassed 765 runs in the tournament with an unbelievable average of 95.62, breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup.
