The 2026 Indian Premier League has still not finalized the venues for its playoffs and the final of the season even though the matches are being held in the country. The tournament scheduled was made in two parts considering the assembly elections across the country and the BCCI had confirmed that the playoff venue would be announced later. There are reports which suggest that Bangalore and New Chandigarh are strong contenders to host the closing phase of the Indian Premier League and the final decision will be made by the BCCI considering all the travel, logistics and broadcast needs. Bangalore and New Chandigarh as Frontrunners Generally, the home ground of the defending champions is selected as the venue for the final stage. Since the last season was won by the Royal Challengers Bangalore and thus there is a huge possibility that the final stage matches might take place at Bangalore's home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Five league matches are scheduled to be held in Bangalore this season and as of now, RCB will also play 2 of their home matches at Raipur. The venue also received the go-ahead from the authorities few weeks before the start of the tournament after some renovation took place at the venue following the stampede which took place in 2013. Alternatively, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh which is home to Punjab Kings could be a venue for the playoff and final stage. The ground will host 4 league matches and three of the Punjab Kings' home games will be held in Dharamsala.
