Ben Stokes’ availability with the ball on Day 5 at Old Trafford remains uncertain, with assistant coach Marcus Trescothick providing a cautious update. Speaking to BBC Sport, Trescothick acknowledged the skipper’s physical strain after an intense all-round performance. Trescothic said, “We are waiting to see, he is obviously stiff and sore. He has had a big workload in the last few weeks and obviously again in this game and had a bit of cramp while he was batting mainly yesterday.” He added, “We are still hopeful that he will be better tomorrow... but we will assess it overnight and see what happens. It's always important to make sure, especially after getting five wickets in the first innings.” Trescothick added the team is “keeping fingers crossed” and confirmed Stokes would receive a massage and full rest before a final decision.
