South Africa's skipper Wiaan Mulder created history on Day 2 of the second Test against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Mulder remained unbeaten on 367 runs, which is the highest individual score by any batter in an away Test match. South Africa declared their first innings at a record 626/5 with this. This also shows the skipper isn't greedy to chase Lara's record of 400*. He also surpassed legendary figures such as Wally Hammond (336*), Mark Taylor (334*), and Don Bradman (334) in the same record. This is currently the top score by a South African batter in Tests away from home. Mulder also broke Graeme Smith's record of 362 runs (277 & 85) in a single Test match. His 367* is currently the most runs by a South African batter in a single Test innings. Wiaan Mulder also became the second South African to achieve a triple hundred in Test cricket. The first one was Hashim Amla, who had achieved 311 not out against England at The Oval in 2012. Mulder reached his triple century in 297 balls, which is the second-quickest in Test history. Only Virender Sehwag has been quicker, getting 300 off only 278 balls against South Africa in 2008.
