Pakistan will be playing three T20Is and as many ODIs against the West Indies in the Caribbean in August. The T20Is will be played at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. The ODIs will be played at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. Pakistan fielded a fairly green team to Bangladesh this month for a three-match T20I series. But the young ones didn't quite live up to expectations as Pakistan were defeated 1-2. Against West Indies, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) returned to experience, bringing back players like Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali. Faheem Ashraf, who impressed in the recent few T20Is against Bangladesh, retains his place. But Salman Mirza, who took seven wickets in three matches at an average of 8.57 and was the highest wicket-taker, has been surprisingly omitted. At the same time, Mohammad Rizwan will be the captain of the side in the ODIs, while skipper of the T20I side Salman Ali Agha will be his lieutenant. Veteran Haris Rauf has only been included in the T20I squad and not in the ODI squad. Talismanic Babar Azam will feature in the 50-over game.
