West Indies' Sherfane Rutherford completed his maiden century owing to an overthrow during the first ODI match against Bangladesh at Warner Park Basseterre, St Kitts on December 9. In the first ball of the 47th over, Bangladesh's Soumya Sarkar came to bowl and gave a full-on-leg delivery, which Rutherford guided towards the midwicket for two runs. He was four runs short, until an overthrow came for the deep backward square towards the non-striker end, and there was none to collect it. West Indians got four runs as a gift, and Rutherford completed his ODI century. He then smashed two consecutive sixes to Sarkar but got trapped by Nahid Rana at short third in the fourth ball. Rutherford scored 113 runs in 80 balls, hitting 7 fours and 8 sixes, getting the man-of-the-match award.
