Having a special jersey in the IPL has become quite the trend. It all kicked off with RCB’s unique ‘green initiative,’ where the team dons their green jersey once a year during an afternoon match. Just a few days later, Rajasthan Royals stepped onto the field in their striking all-pink “Pink Promise” jersey, showing support for women-led transformation initiatives. Now, the Gujarat Titans (GT) are ready to make their own impactful statement. When Shubman Gill and his team face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday night, they’ll be sporting a special lavender jersey as part of their annual campaign to raise awareness in the fight against cancer. This has become a cherished tradition for the Gujarat Titans, which they recently announced for IPL 2026. GT has confirmed that they will wear the lavender kit for the fourth consecutive year, aiming to raise awareness about cancer and show solidarity with fighters, survivors, and families affected by the disease. “For us, this game is about more than just cricket. As we prepare to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the TATA IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, May 12, we will once again take the field in our special lavender jerseys to support the fight against cancer. This will be the fourth consecutive year that we wear the lavender jersey, standing in solidarity with every fighter, survivor and family impacted by cancer.“ Also Read | Who Is Madhav Tiwari? This marks the fourth year in a row that GT has stepped up to support the fight against cancer. Players have already been seen wearing the lavender jersey in promotional shoots and social media campaigns released by the franchise ahead of the SRH match. After a rocky start to the season with two losses, GT has turned things around, winning seven of their last nine matches. They currently sit in second place on the IPL 2026 points table with 14 points, keeping their playoff hopes alive and aiming for a top-two finish. Another win against Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad would definitely boost Gujarat’s chances in the playoff race.
