The temporary stop of IPL 2025, because India and Pakistan aren't getting along so well, might've actually been a good thing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (that's RCB to their fans). The league got all messed up, sure, but for RCB, it was like a little vacation right when they needed it. Some of their players were banged up with injuries, so the time off was a big help. Their captain, Rajat Patidar, hurt his finger playing against Chennai Super Kings on May 3rd. He's got a bad bruise, and the doctors told him to chill and not train for about 10 days. If the IPL didn't take that break, he would've had to miss two really important games. And that could've messed up RCB's plan to finish in the top two spots. So, the timing of this break kinda worked in their favor, even though it's not ideal for everyone. Now, with the league on a one-week break, Patidar gets some downtime to heal without missing any games. The RCB docs are keeping tabs on how he's doing and if he might be ready for that India A gig in England. Before the break, Jitesh Sharma was set to lead the team against LSG in Patidar’s absence: “I was very grateful for the opportunity given to me. They were giving me an opportunity to captain RCB and it’s a very big thing for me and my family. I was thinking of what the right combination would be because both Devdutt [Padikkal] and Rajat were not available, and it was a big responsibility to replace them.” But he's not the only one on the injured list for Bengaluru. Padikkal's done for the season with a bum hammy, Salt couldn't play last time because he was sick, and Hazlewood's got a wonky shoulder. So, RCB had to pull in some fresh faces like Bethell and grab Agarwal from the sidelines. They're doing pretty good, sitting in the number two spot with eight wins out of 11 games. Now they've got this sweet chance to take a breather, recharge, and come back even stronger with their dream team.
