The Indian cricket team has at least three big names in recent days whose marriage has been a hot topic of discussion in terms of divorce, and Mohammed Shami is one of them. Recently, in an Instagram post, the pacer's former wife, Hasin Jahan, labeled him as a "womanizer," funding all the luxury for his mistress. In an interview with News24, when Shami was asked about his previous marriage, he said he doesn't regret much about his past life and wants to focus on his game. He said, "Leave that. I never regret the past. What's gone is gone. I don't want to blame anyone, including myself. I want to focus on my cricket. I don't need these controversies." Not only that, the interview further asked his opinion on the divorces of his colleagues, Shikhar Dhawan and Yuzvendra Chahal. Dhawan had married an Australian-based Indian, Ayesha Mukherjee, but got divorced. The couple had a son, Zoravar, who was prohibited from meeting Dhawan. On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal and his former wife Dhanashree Verma had a divorce finalized after months of Insta story fights and the t-shirt drama. When asked about their divorces, Shami said, "That's your job to investigate. Why do you want to hang us to death? Look at the other side as well. I focus on cricket, not controversies." In the clash against North Zone in Bengaluru, the veteran pacer, aged 34, bowled 17 overs on Day 1 and returned with figures of 1/55. Before this outing, Shami’s last appearance in professional cricket was on May 2 during the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he represented Sunrisers Hyderabad. That match didn’t go his way, as he remained wicketless and leaked 48 runs in just three overs against Gujarat Titans. Overall, the 2025 IPL season proved underwhelming for the experienced seamer, who could manage only six wickets across nine games. He was also unavailable for India’s marquee Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series in England earlier in the year and was left out of the Asia Cup squad scheduled for September. Shami hasn’t donned the national jersey since featuring in the ICC Champions Trophy back in March.
