The Wimbledon 2025 season has seen a cluster of former and present Indian cricketers coming to watch the matches. In a recent interview with GQ India, Shreyas Iyer informed that he was given the offer too. Notably, Shreyas has a professional collaboration with Nike. And the sports apparel brand wanted Shreyas to go to Wimbledon. However, Shreyas declined, citing that the entirety of India was in London. Well, after Wimbledon ended, Nike arranged a small meet with Wimbledon runner-up Carlos Alcaraz in Barcelona. Shreyas said, “Nike also offered to take me to Wimbledon… but I decided to stay away. It looked like the whole of India was in London this year." The Indian team was in London at that time due to the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Series. From the team, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah, along with his wife, Sanjana Ganeshan, visited the tournament. Apart from that Suryakumar Yadav, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and former Indian coach Ravi Shastri attended the male Wimbledon Open. At Wimbledon, Sinner defeated defending champion Alcaraz 4–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4, becoming the first Italian to win Wimbledon and securing his fourth career Grand Slam. The result ended Alcaraz’s unbeaten streak in major finals. At the US Open, however, Alcaraz struck back, defeating Sinner 6–2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4 to claim his second US Open title and sixth Grand Slam overall, while also regaining the World No. 1 ranking. In the women’s game, Amanda Anisimova reached both finals but finished runner-up twice. At Wimbledon, Iga Świątek thrashed her with a rare 6–0, 6–0 double-bagel, capturing her first Wimbledon title and becoming the first Polish player to win singles at the event. At the US Open, Anisimova fell to Aryna Sabalenka, who won 6–3, 7–6(3) to defend her crown and clinch her fourth Grand Slam title, becoming the first woman since Serena Williams to win back-to-back US Opens.
