Zeeshan Ansari has made it to SunRisers Hyderabad's (SRH) playing XI for the game against Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2025's 10th game scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 30. SRH picked up Ansari for ₹40 lakh in the IPL 2025 auction. The 25-year-old replaces Adam Zampa and earns his IPL debut, even with established spinner Rahul Chahar still on the squad. Zeeshan Ansari's father owned a tailoring shop called New Noor Mohammad Ladies Tailor in Lucknow. Zeeshan, who could not afford shoes and kits, relied on his coach and friends in the academy for support. His father had insisted he stay and help in the shop after the setback, but he made his breakthrough into the Uttar Pradesh U19 team. He took eight wickets at an average of 8.62 and played an important part in India's win. He was fit to play alongside upcoming stars like Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Washington Sundar, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed in the U19 World Cup; the then sixteen-year-old took two wickets and scored 37 runs in two matches. He finally got his Ranji Trophy debut for Uttar Pradesh against Railways in October 2017, largely due to his performances in age-group cricket. In that game, he took six wickets, even though Railways triumphed by 21 runs. It remained the one match played by him that season. He has five first-class trials under his belt with 17 as wickets through 2020. He has also played only once for Uttar Pradesh, in a T20 match against Uttarakhand in 2019. As the top bowler for the Uttar Pradesh T20 League, he made headlines in 2024. He took 24 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 13.25 for the Meerut Mavericks. The 5/26 against Kanpur Superstars stood out among his other performances; it led his side to victory by a comfortable six wickets.
