Vipraj should have had the huge wicket of Nicholas Pooran as well had a simple catch not been put down but he finished with figures of 1/35 in 2 overs. However, Vipraj's bigger impact was yet to come and he made a big mark with the bat. Coming in to bat at 113/6 in a run chase of 210, Vipraj smoked 39 off just 15 deliveries which included 5 fours and 2 maximums. He could not take his side to the finishing line but his knock played a pivotal role from taking DC out of the dumps and eventually a win. Vipraj Nigam's career so far Vipraj Nigam burst onto the scene during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 playing for Uttar Pradesh where the leg-spinning all rounder picked up eight wickets with an impressive economy of just over seven. Not just that, Vipraj strikes at 156 in the T20 format. His most notable performance with the bat came against Andhra in the same tournament when he smashed 27 runs off just 8 balls alongside skipper Rinku Singh to steer his side home grabbing a player-of-the-match award. Vipraj Nigam was also a star in the UP20 league grabbing 20 wickets in 11 matches including a five-for ending as the second highest wicket taker of the tournament. His first-class record stands at 13 wickets in 3 games with a best of 4/81 against Bengal. Also, he picked up 21 wickets in the U23 CK Nayudu Trophy in 2024-25. A 54-run knock in just 29 balls in an intra-squad game in DC's pre-season camp and then his 15-ball 39 run knock in his debut game shows that the young lad has immense potential and could have a breakthrough season.
