The former IPL champion Robin Uthappa, who once represented Chennai Super Kings, feels that the team might chase after Glenn Maxwell in the mini auction for the 2026 Indian Premier League. Maxwell was earlier a part of the Punjab Kings squad that played the IPL final in 2024. However, his inconsistency has been a matter of tension. With Maxwell entering the auction, there are speculations on which team Maxwell might join. Meanwhile, the former CSKian Robin Uthappa felt that CSK might target him. Especially having an Aussie, Stephen Fleming, in the camp, Maxwell has high chances to sign with CSK. Robbie feels that Fleming likes Maxwell and can handle his personality too. He also felt that CSK might go for the Englishman Liam Livingstone. Speaking on a YouTube live, Uthappa said, "There will be guys like Maxwell and Liam Livingstone at the auction. I know that Stephen Fleming likes Maxwell, so they might go after him. He could go there, and I think only they (CSK) can handle his personality." His best season for this franchise was back in 2014, when he scored 552 ruins for the then Kings XI Punjab. Royal Challengers Bengaluru got good use of him as the batter, as in 2021, he amassed 513 runs in 15 innings and then in 2023, he scored 400 runs in 14 innings. Uthappa feels that Maxwell is more useful as a bowler. His batting is mostly on being able to click on a day. Otherwise, his bowling, as per Robbie, is consistent. He said, "I consider Maxwell a bowler more than a batter, especially in the IPL, because he has faltered a lot. But as a bowler, he has been quite consistent. I think his utility as a bowler will be a lot more. If he clicks as a batter, it would be a blast." Well, with the ball, Maxi took 41 wickets playing 141 matches, with an economy of 8.29.
