The love for Virat Kohli knows no boundaries. The name has enough powers to diminish a well-set boundary for ages, the age-old rivalry, for seconds. A century that technically knocked Pakistan out the Champions Trophy 2025 got Pak fans erupt in joy. A video from Islamabad surfaced on social media, where fans were seen eagerly waiting for Kohli to hit the final boundary. And the moment Kohli hit the runs, the fans jumped up from their seats, cheered his name, despite their country suffering a crushing defeat. And it is of no surprise that Pakistani fans are walking in to watch the India vs. Pakistan match with Kohli's name on their backs. And the trend continued on February 23 as well. There will be a lot of cries here and there asking to demolish "hero-worship" knowing that "heroes" never begged but worked on this. Watching the Islamabad fancheer for Kohli brought back sweet memories when Kohli got his 71st international hundred- his first in T20 international. It came after a long wait of one thousand twenty days and 83 international innings during a dead-rubber match against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022. Coincidentally, that too was in Dubai. Much like Pakistan, that time it was India who had already booked their return tickets. Yet the Indians celebrated. The century came against a clueless Afghanistan, but it marked the return of King Kohli. And when it came to his resurgence, fans on both sides of the border felt the joy, despite India’s early exit. And Pakistan, in terms of fandom, never failed to show love. Every time India denied to tour beyond borders, the loudest disappointment stems from fans who wish to see Kohli bat in their stadiums. The 100-run not-out, sealing a six-wicket massive victory against Pakistan, is special in different perspectives. While Indians celebrated it as yet another triumph over their arch-rivals, Pakistanis celebrated it simply because Kohli had scored a century. India, after winning two matches, have virtually booked their berth for the semifinals. Behind the limelight of Virat Kohli, there were Kuldeep Yadav's three wickets and Hardik Pandya's two. Axar Patel had a brilliant throw dismissing Imam-ul-Haq and took one wicket, alongside Ravindra Jadeja and Harshit Rana. As Shreyas Iyer said in the post-match press conference, the bowlers did the job, restricting Pakistan to 241, at least 20 to 25 runs short of needed. Coming to bat. Shubman Gill, getting a life in the middle, set the base of the win, scoring 46 runs. Finally, Shreyas came in and supported Kohli to accelerate the run chase, and then himself took the charge too. Iyer scored a gritty half century (56) but left when Kohli was on the edge of his century. In the final moments, a strategic two-run denial by Axar Patel ensured that Kohli could not only clinch victory but also reach his hundred in style. Meanwhile, last day inning should also call Kohli a "mathematical run chaser."
