The next big ICC trophy India will chase after the recent T20 World Cup victory is the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to be played in Pakistan. It would be the first-ever ICC event that Pakistan is going to host since the 1996 ODI World Cup. According to reports, India might not go to Pakistan because of strained political tensions between these two countries. Now the ICC is trying to find a solution. An ICC delegation is in Pakistan for a final inspection before the Champions Trophy that will take place next year. ICC will sit with PCB officials to discuss the possible schedule for the tournament, that encompasses India's games in Lahore. The meeting will, however, focus on what would be done if the Indian government won't allow the Indian team to travel to Pakistan. A source told PTI, "The tentative schedule is important because it involves the Indian team being based in Lahore and playing all their matches in the city. The delegation which includes their ICC Security Manager would also get briefings from security officials in Pakistan," Also Read | Watch: Virat Kohli Melts Hearts, Captures Special Moments with Kids at Chepauk ICC chief executive, Geoff Allardice told the media in Pakistan that the event will not be moved and will be run by the PCB. We haven't been given any information to suggest that it will not be held there," They will also discuss what to do if the Indian government decides not to send the team to Pakistan for the ICC tournament. Right now, there’s no official word on this, and the tournament, including India’s matches, is still planned to be held in Pakistan.
