Is Mohsin Naqvi scared of of the BCCI officials or lacking better reasons to dodge the Asia Cup drama? The International Cricket Council Executive Board meeting is knocking on the doors, and the Pakistan Cricket Board chief, Mohsin Naqvi, is expected to miss it. The meeting will be conducted for days, starting on Tuesday in Dubai. The chief executives will be gathering for the meeting on November 7. Even though Naqvi never mentioned BCCI, PTI quoted him as having "domestic political issues" to sort. The report further said that in case Naqvi misses the meeting, then Sumair Syed, the Chief Operating Officer of PCB, might attend the meeting. There are, however, possibilities of Naqvi attending the meeting remotely. Mohsin Naqvi, apart from being the PCB chief, is also the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council. He has also been serving the country as the federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control since 2024. Naqvi succeeded Jai Shah as the ACC Chairman. Well, since then he has never attended a single ICC meeting. Despite Suryakumar Yadav’s team winning the final, they had to celebrate without the trophy or medals. Naqvi reportedly directed ACC officials not to move the silverware without his approval. The trophy remains locked at the ACC headquarters in Dubai since the September finale. The BCCI requested its delivery to Mumbai, but Naqvi declined, insisting that he personally present it to a BCCI official and an Indian team representative at a special event in Dubai on November 10. This unusual delay has sparked criticism, as India awaits the long-overdue handover of the Asia Cup trophy they rightfully earned.
