Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coach Daniel Vettori has opined that the team is not playing well in IPL 2025. Until now, SRH has won just 3 out of 9 matches. Now, they need to win all their remaining 5 games if they have to have a hope of qualifying for the playoffs. After being runners-up in IPL 2024, the fans were looking forward to SRH performing well this season. They have a good batting line-up, but things have not worked according to plan. The team has lost 6 matches and is in a precarious position. Prior to their upcoming match against Gujarat Titans (GT), Vettori said that the team has not been consistent. He mentioned that SRH has not performed well in all three aspects such as batting, bowling, and fielding, together. Vettori said: “I don’t think we’ve put together complete performances. We’ve let ourselves down in one facet, probably in every match. You look at the good teams that are winning at the moment – they’ve been consistent across the board." Vettori, however, was full of praise for young batter Aniket Verma. The 23-year-old is playing his first season of the IPL and has scored 190 runs in 9 games, averaging 27.14. His highest score is 74. He said: "In terms of individuals, I’ve been very pleased with Aniket – coming into the side and the IPL for the first time and being able to play a style that’s really suited the team. He’s established himself as one of our key members." Earlier this season, GT defeated SRH comfortably in Hyderabad. Now, with Shubman Gill as the captain of GT, they will attempt to defeat SRH once more. SRH, on the other hand, will be attempting to remain in the tournament.
