West Indies is gearing up to face Bangladesh in a white-ball series, which is scheduled to be played from October 18 and comprises three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and the same number of T20Is. Former West Indies U-19 captain Ackeem Auguste has earned his maiden call-up for the ODI series after Ewin Lewis was ruled out of this tour due to a wrist injury. 22-year-old opening batter Ackeem Auguste made his T20I debut against Nepal last month and played all three T20Is on the tour, scoring 73 runs at an average of 36.5 and a strike rate of 128.07. Slow left-arm orthodox spinner Khary Pierre, who made his Test debut against India in the Ahmedabad Test match, will return to the ODI setup after a 5-year hiatus. Pierre made his ODI debut for the West Indies in 2019 against India in Visakhapatnam. Furthermore, Alick Athanaze will also feature in the squad after last appearing in the ODIs in December last year. Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph duo will return to the ODI and T20I squad after missing out on the India tour with their respective injuries.
