Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s stars Suyash Sharma and Phil Salt were in high spirits after RCB stormed into the IPL 2025 final with a crushing 8-wicket win over Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. While Salt’s blazing 56* off 27 balls sealed the chase, Suyash’s 3/17 turned the game in RCB’s favour with the ball. Suyash, who has been a quiet but consistent performer this season, spoke about his simple but effective bowling mantra. His control of the googly and ability to hit the stumps have made him a key asset for RCB on slower tracks. “I have performed, that is why people must be happy! My role is to hit the stumps – be it with the googly or legspin or flipper. Googly is my stock ball, there was a little help from the surface as well. We will celebrate on the 3rd [June],” the young spinner said with a smile. Phil Salt, who has been in red-hot form for RCB this season, once again gave the team a flying start and never looked back. He praised the conditions and revealed how he mentally approached the chase after a brief break between matches. “Great feeling. We had a second bite at the cherry tonight. It did move a bit. Don't know how much that was because of the wicket. Not the worst wicket we have played on, put it that way. What came in my head was don't get out to Arshdeep! Just react to the ball,” Salt said after the match. The England batter also underlined the importance of peaking at the right time. “I said before the game to Andy that it was a blessing in disguise. Sometimes you can think too much and overplay it. So play-travel-play was a blessing in disguise. Just gives us momentum. Cliche but true. Back end of the tournament you want to hit your straps. You can play a part with the bat or ball or strike rates through the middle.” Also READ: Punjab Kings Crash Out After Batting Collapse in IPL Playoffs With both form and confidence on their side, RCB now gear up for the final, with June 3 circled as their potential celebration date.
