India and Pakistan faced twice in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, but India dominantly emerged victorious in both matches. More than a rivalry, their matches have been filled with controversies, drama and chaos with the political assessment in mind. With India already a clear favourite to win the tournament, Pakistan is still not backing out. Pakistan’s leading pace bowler, Shaheen Afridi, recently shared that they will be confident in any team in the finals of the Asia Cup 2025. Even if it is India, Shaheen said Pakistan will be confident in beating them in the finals. The left-arm pacer also acknowledged that Pakistan’s performance against the top-ranked teams might not be up to the mark, but they are determined to take things into their own hands. We have come here to win the final and win the Asia Cup. We are ready for any team that comes. We will defeat them. Yes, we haven't won against big teams. You can say that we have grown in the rankings. But when you play against big teams, you win. The teams that are coming now, we are competing against them.” Pakistan have already lost two matches in the tournament against their arch-rivals and despite this, they are confident that facing them for the third time should be considered a brave move. Talking about their performance in the Super Fours, they bounced back in their recent match to beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets on Tuesday. Pakistan were given 134 runs to chase and they did that in 18 overs, thanks to the resilient knocks from Hussain Tahalat and Mohammad Nawaz. With one victory in two matches, they have one game left against Bangladesh. India and Pakistan could potentially meet for the third time if Pakistan manages to win and comes in the second spot.
