Australia's teen batter Sam Konstas, who made his debut in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, clarifies to have no regrets on the physical altercations with Virat Kohli at Melbourne. Konstas broke into the team as a replacement for opener Nathan McSweeney. The newcomer, who was a key performer for Australia in the series, shared in an interview with 7NEWS that he occasionally replays the moment, which has become one of the most memorable highlights of the series. Konstas said, "No, I have no regrets. I like to live by that and it was so special. I've watched it so many times, I'm not going to lie." The incident happened during the first inings at Melbourne when Virat Kohli bumped on Konstas while he was walking towards the fielder. Konstas on the other side was chatting with his partner. Following that, both had a heated conversation, and the umpire had to intervene and calm down. His confidence and aggression, though unusual for a debutant, drew comparisons to Kohli, who thrives in high-pressure situations. Kohli, known for his fiery verbal duels, has often transformed confrontations into match-winning performances, as seen during his 2014 Australia tour, where he responded to relentless sledging with four centuries. Konstas, who admires Kohli, shares a similar competitive edge. Even after the verbal spat, he was fined by the ICC and was slammed brutally by the Australian media, calling him a clown. Even though Konstas later called it an accident, but seemingly enjoyed that in multiple interviews.
