The third Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord's witnessed a humorous moment on Day 1 involving England opener Zak Crawley. On the last second ball of the 13th over of the innings bowled by Mohammed Siraj, Crawley slipped and fell face first while attempting for a second run. The video went viral in no time on social media, leaving fans in stitches. The accident occurred when Ben Duckett hit a full-length delivery down the ground. It seemed like an easy two runs. Crawley, wanting to come back for the second, lost his balance when he reached the striker's end and face-planted onto the ground. On seeing that, the English batsmen opted to take a single to save themselves from getting run-out. The duo later chuckled after getting back into the crease. Impact on Batting and Bowling Early Drama Before the Real Action This lightheartedness arrived midway through a tense first session just before the drinks. India lost the toss and were asked to bowl first. Captain Shubman Gill explained that he would have bowled in any case since the pitch provided something for the seamers in the early stages. There wasn't much swing or seam, but there was unpredictable bounce, and England's openers had to keep their wits about them. Following a good first hour for Duckett and Crawley, the game was turned in India's favour after the drinks break. Indian skipper Shubman Gill introduced Nitish Reddy, who shocked England by removing both openers in the same over. He even got Ollie Pope in the next ball after Ducket's wicket, but Gill could not hold on to a difficult chance at slip. Although Crawley's tumble did not impact the scorecard, it certainly provided the fans and commentators with a reason to smile. At Lunch, England are at 83-2, with Joe Root batting at 24 and Ollie Pope at 12. The session, although has been shared, England will be happy with the kind of performance they have delivered so far.
