Chasing 145, India finished at 148/5 in just 13.2 overs, riding on Stuart Binny’s blistering 50* off 21 balls and a fiery cameo from Yusuf Pathan (21* off 7). Earlier, Piyush Chawla (3/18) and Binny (2/17) restricted Windies to 144/9 despite Kieron Pollard’s explosive 74*. With Binny firing with both the ball and bat, it not only earned him the Player of the Match award but also took India to the semifinal, raising another confusion. When India was playing against the West Indies, the Australia Champions were playing against the Pakistan Champions. Saeed Ajmal almost single-handedly demolished Australia, taking 6 wickets for just 16. Imad Wasim took two wickets, while Sohail Tanvir and Sohail Khan took one each. Australia was bundled out within 12 overs, scoring 74 runs. Pakistan chased it within 8 overs, without losing a wicket. Well, as per the schedule, India will be facing Pakistan in the first semifinal on July 31st and Australia will play the second semifinal against South Africa on the same day. As per India's previous antics, several players pulled out from the match against Pakistan in the group stage.
