During the Super Four clash between Pakistan and Sri lanka, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, on September 23, Sri Lankan bowler mocked the Pakistani bowler Abrar Ahmed at least twice while fielding. Abrar, who had earlier clean bowled Hasaranga with a full outside off-stump delivery, had celebrated with Hasaranga's usual cross arm move. When Sri Lanka came to defend the runs, Hasaranga mocked the celebration. The first time it came when he took a low one-handed stunner, while the second one came after he dismissed Saim Ayub. After electing to bowl first, Pakistan’s pacers put Sri Lanka under early pressure. Shaheen Shah Afridi (3/28) struck in the very first over, removing Kusal Mendis for a duck and later dismissing Pathum Nissanka with a sharp rising delivery. Haris Rauf (2/37) dismissed Kusal Perera with extra bounce, while Hussain Talat (2/18) broke the backbone of Sri Lanka’s middle order, removing captain Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka in quick succession. Kamindu Mendis fought back with a valiant 50 off 44 balls, but Sri Lanka were restricted to 133/8. In reply, Pakistan lost Sahibzada Farhan (24) and Fakhar Zaman (17) in consecutive deliveries to Theekshana, while Hasaranga’s googly cleaned up Saim Ayub and trapped skipper Salman Agha lbw. At 57/4, Sri Lanka sensed a comeback, but Hussain Talat anchored the chase with a calm 32\* off 30 balls. Mohammad Nawaz’s blazing 38\* off 24 balls sealed victory in the 18th over. Talat’s all-round show earned him Player of the Match.
