The incident occurred in the 11th over when the Malinga-esque pacer Matheesha Pathirana bowled a bouncer on the first ball which struck on Virat Kohli's helmet, prompting physios to run into the field for a check. On the next delivery, another shorter delivery from Pathirana, Kohli hammered a six over a fine-leg, followed by a four on the third delivery towards the mid-wicket region. After accumulating 10 runs off two deliveries of Pathirana, Kohli gave a fierce stare and exchanged words with the Sri Lanka speedster.
