Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli yet again proved to be a caring soul when he came out to meet fans at the team hotel recently. While the world knows him for his intense passion on the field, Kohli's off-field kindness has been winning admiration from fans and the cricketing world alike. Kohli is gentle and generous with his supporters, and this latest gesture truly reflects this side of him. A recent case witnessed three young fans waiting eagerly to see their hero-one of whom was also in a wheelchair. He warmly greeted them and, in no time, made the day for the young fan, having taken the time to ask after the boy's name as well as to sign a white T-shirt. Kohli even bent down to click pictures, so that the memories shared with the young lad and his friends would be treasured ones. Kohli also signed the bottom of one other kid's T-shirt, along with an Indian team jersey and a cricket bat presented by one of the boys to him. In eight innings against five Test matches played out at this ground, Kohli has scored 469 runs at an average of 58.62 by maintaining a strike rate of 58.69. Among those innings was a spectacular double century against England in 2016, which has been one of the highlights of his career at Wankhede. But if that double century is excluded, his number of runs at the ground seem relatively less impressive. Still, he has become the sixth-highest Test run-getter at the Wankhede stadium. At Wankhede, Kohli has scored his first two Test half-centuries. Being a stalwart who sets the most promising standards, he will hope to have a cracking display here and get back into rhythm before the BGT 2024-25.
