Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was given a warm and heroic reception as he reached the Kanpur hotel where the Indian cricket team is going to stay during the second Test against Bangladesh. As he entered the hotel, a huge gathering of staff members of the hotel along with the fans who wished to meet Virat Kohli were seen. Flowers and gifts were offered to Kohli while a tilak was presented to him as part of the traditional welcome he has been receiving at various places he has visited in the last few days. A rudraksha was also presented to him as a token of giving blessings. Though Kohli is reportedly affable by nature, in this situation he was a bit awkward. One of the hotel staff members was trying to shake his hand; however, Kohli's hands were occupied with a bouquet and personal items. "Sir, 2 hi haath hain," he brushed it aside with a smile but made sure to say "thank you" to show appreciation. He always makes time for a hello, but for the fans, it turned out a bit hectic with this huge crowd around him. The last match Virat Kohli played at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur was in 2021 against New Zealand, where he could only score 27 runs. This Test means much for Kohli to be back in the rhythm as India would look to focus on the World Test Championship. Since his comeback to the team after missing out on the England series due to the birth of his second child, Kohli has been at the peak of his form. He had crossed 740 runs in the 2024 IPL and also scored a match-winning knock as India triumphed over South Africa in the T20 World Cup. He seems to have a very important role to play in the second Test against Bangladesh as well, which will begin on Friday with India eyeing a victory to win another series.
