The Indian cricket team, captained by Shubman Gill and strengthened by senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, left New Delhi for Perth for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia. The series features three ODIs and five T20Is, beginning October 19. In a heartwarming gesture before he boarded the team flight, Virat Kohli signed a poster for one of his fans outside the Delhi hotel. Kohli Signs Poster for Fan Wearing RCB Jersey When the Indian team bus was departing for Terminal 3 airport, Kohli, who was on board the bus, saw a fan standing outside in an RCB jersey holding his poster. Kohli instructed the security officials to take the poster from him, signed it, and returned it to the fan, who subsequently posed in pride with the autographed item outside the team bus. The heartfelt gesture quickly gained attention on social media, once again highlighting Kohli’s connection with his fans. The seasoned duo had previously confirmed their retirement from Test cricket ahead of the England tour but remain part of India's white-ball squad. Their return is considered vital in the run-up to the World Cup 2027, although head coach Gautam Gambhir has made it clear that their qualification for the World Cup is not a certainty at this point. In a press conference in Delhi on his 44th birthday, Gambhir said: “2027 World Cup is 2.5 years away. It’s important to stay in the present. Kohli and Rohit are both quality players. Hopefully, they have a successful tour in Australia." India is set to kick off the ODI series against Australia on October 19 at Perth Stadium, with subsequent matches on October 23 in Adelaide and October 25 in Sydney. Both the veterans coming back and Kohli already displaying his off-field suaveness, all attention will be fixed on the team's performance in Australia.
