It was an emotional day for India's blue-eyed boy cricketer Virat Kohli as his prolonged 18-year wait came to an end. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the franchise he joined right at the beginning of the Indian Premier League (IPL), claimed their maiden title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The victory meant a lot not only to RCB supporters but also to Virat Kohli. Initially, he appeared emotional, but as the minutes passed, the happiness in him was evident. He smiled, laughed, and appeared like a young child. In one such memorable moment recorded on camera, Kohli ran like a child and hugged former Indian cricketer and legendary commentator Ravi Shastri following the trophy celebration. That clip is now trending on social media. Anyway, most of the top players have switched sides. Rohit Sharma began with Deccan Chargers before becoming a Mumbai Indians star. MS Dhoni played for Rising Pune Supergiant when CSK was suspended. Even AB de Villiers played for Delhi Daredevils before playing for RCB. But one player who never deserted his team was Virat Kohli. He remained with RCB right from the start, in all the ups and downs, and never even thought about quitting. After the win, Kohli said: "This is the team I'm going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL. So this one is absolutely right up there because you know, as a sportsman, when you grind for something, and this is a very high-intensity, high-quality tournament, which is of great value in world cricket today. And I'm someone who wants to win the big tournaments, the big moments, and this one was missing. And tonight, I'm going to sleep like a baby."
