While India remains steadfast in Operation Sindoor against Pakistan-sponsored terrorists, love and support for the military is increasing all over the country. People are supporting our troops with pride. Following the rising tension between India and Pakistan, the BCCI has decided to suspend the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a week. However, in the middle of this, a short video clip from an IPL match has gone viral online. It claims that MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), disrespected the national anthem during the 57th match of IPL 2025 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The national anthem was played in the stadium in respect of the 'Operation Sindoor' which was successfully executed by the Indian armed forces. What the Viral Clip Shows The video, recorded by a fan during the live game, captures Dhoni slightly shifting as the national anthem Jana Gana Mana was being sung. The individual who posted the video stated that although it's understandable that foreign players such as Dewald Brevis may not adhere to Indian traditions, he expected more from Dhoni, who is an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army. While not really a regulation, it's considered a sign of respect. The video presented it as though Dhoni was fidgeting, and numerous people thought so. If you look at the video properly, you'll notice Dhoni did stop changing direction the instant he became aware that the national anthem had begun. There was loud noise from the crowd within the stadium, and he might not have heard it right away. The video was also manipulated in the final frame (on the 0:29-second mark) to present him in a disrespectful light. Dhoni has always been someone who is a country lover. He even missed the birth of his daughter Ziva in 2015 during the ICC Cricket World Cup, declaring national duty paramount. Someone like him, who has always revered the nation and the military, would never knowingly dishonor the national anthem or any national symbol.
