Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and his old friend and former teammate Vinod Kambli reunited at the unveiling of their coach Ramakant Achrekar's memorial on Tuesday, December 3 at the iconic Shivaji Park in Mumbai. The event was organized to unveil the memorial of their coach, Ramakant Achrekar, who not only groomed these two raw talented prodigies but also provided much-needed guidance to them. This event was much more of a nostalgia for them. Even after Tendulkar tried to move on, Kambli closely held his hands and refused to let him go. It was only the host who called out Sachin Tendulkar several times that forced him to let go. The list includes Paras Mambhrey, Pravin Amre, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Samir Dighe, and Sanjay Bangar. Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli were both students of Achrekar. They made it into the news headlines when they formed a world record of 664-run partnership during their school cricket days, Tendulkar scored 326 while Kambli scored 349. While Sachin Tendulkar went on to become an iconic figure in cricketing history, on the other hand, Kambli’s journey ended horribly. Vinod Kambli represented India in 17 Test matches and 104 ODI matches amassing 1084 runs with 3 centuries and 2477 runs with two centuries respectively.
