Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerged as the most spoken-about young player during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). People began to notice him even before he took to the field for a match, as he became the youngest player to enter the IPL auction process. The 14-year-old grabbed the attention of everyone by being selected for ₹1.1 crore by the Rajasthan Royals. When Rajasthan Royals' captain Sanju Samson was injured, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had the opportunity to open the innings along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. He used it to his advantage. and in only seven matches, the young lad scored 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.56 and average of 36.00. He even hit his maiden IPL century, becoming the youngest player in IPL history to have hit a hundred. He also became the second fastest centurion in the history of IPL, surpassing Yusuf Pathan. He is with the India Under-19 squad on tour in England. While playing a U-19 Youth ODI game at the County Ground in Hove, he was spotted bowling for the very first time. In a video posted on social media, Suryavanshi bowled the 23rd over of England's batting. He bowled off-spin and maintained a tight grip throughout. He conceded only two runs from the over and didn't pick up a wicket, but he seemed composed and concentrated. With the contemporary game placing a premium on all-rounders, this might be a shrewd move.
