India U19's new batting talent, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, contributed to a match-winning innings that took India to a 7-wicket win the second semi-final of ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024 against Sri Lanka. After this win, India gets a ticket for the finals, which will take place at Dubai on 8th Dec, and here they'll face Bangladesh U19. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. They were restricted to 173 runs in 46.2 overs, with top scores of 69 from Lakvin Abeysinghe and 42 runs were added by Sharujan Shanmuganathan. Chetan Sharma bowled well for India as he picked up 3 wickets. Kiran Chormale and Ayush Mhatre also picked up 2 wickets each that kept the Sri Lankan batsmen in check. Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave an aggressive start to the innings. He did an incredible job in the second over of India's chase, bowled by Dulnith Sigera. 31 runs were added to India's total in that single over which started with Vaibhav hammering 2 sixes off the first two balls. He followed up with a beautiful cover drive for four, then the ball went for a wide for five leg byes, and finished the over by smacking another six. Ayush Mhatre also contributed with a quick 34 runs off 28 balls. India's run chase had further support from C. Andre Siddarth, who contributed 22 runs, and skipper Mohamed Amaan, who finished not out on 25 as India cruised to win with 7 wickets in hand and 170 balls to spare.
