Having won their two prior matches, Rajasthan Royals are off to a very positive start. The Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya called it right at the toss and elected to field in the rain curtailed game at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has started off with a stunning straight first ball six off Jasprit Bumrah. Yashasvi Jaiswal joins the party and starts off the scoring along with Sooryavanshi. At the end of 3.2 overs (end of powerplay), RR are 59 without loss. 38 of those runs came off the bat of Jaiswal in just 13 balls with four boundaries and three sixes to his name while Sooryavanshi has 20 of 7 with three maximums. 1 run was in extras. Both openers struck with tremendous confidence and took the game away from MI right from the outset. With the majority of the RR batting lineup to still bat, Riyan Parag will be keen to keep the momentum high. For Mumbai Indians batting in an 11-over chase, getting quick wickets early is imperative. The openers for Rajasthan Royals are in fine form and the MI bowlers need to find a way to take wickets or they will be chasing an impossible target to defend. This is sure to be a very fast-paced and exciting 11-over game and it could have a huge bearing on early standings in IPL 2026 with both teams eager to secure victory. The form of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal so far could well decide this shortened game.
