The TNPL 2025 Qualifier 1 match between IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) and Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) at the NPR College Ground, Dindigul, commenced with a bang. On winning the toss, CSG decided to bowl. ITT openers Amit Sathvik and Tushar Raheja provided their team with an excellent start by attacking the bowlers right from the first over. Both the batters seemed to be in control and added runs quickly, frustating the CSG bowlers. But in a most unexpected manner, the opening stand was broken. On the fifth ball of the fifth over, CSG pacer Prem Kumar delivered a length ball to Tushar Raheja, chasing him on his stance. The batter pushed it to mid-wicket and left the crease to steal a quick single. But watching Prem Kumar run behind the ball while on his follow-through, Tushar attempted to return. As he turned, Tushar lost his balance and fell in the center of the pitch, giving Prem Kumar with the perfect opportunity. The bowler took the ball and under armed it to the wicketkeeper's end. Tushar attempted to go back as far as he could but was run out for 28 off 13 balls. It was a bad finish to a good beginning for the batter and a turning point early in the innings. The duo scored 65 runs off 43 balls for the second wicket. Vijay Shankar then broke through by getting Amit dismissed for 57 runs off 40 deliveries. In the following two overs, Mohamed Ali (2) and Sai Kishore (33) also fell, and ITT were 126 for 4 in 13.3 overs. But then there was a big knock by Sasidev. The 32-year-old hit 57 runs in 26 balls with six fours and three sixes. Pradosh Paul too contributed with 16 runs off 14 balls as IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans completed their 20 overs strongly at 202 for 5.
