Travis Head continued his magnificent form as he led Australia to a seven-wicket win against England in the first ODI of the five-match series on Thursday. Playing as an opener for Australia, Head struck a career-best unbeaten 154 to take the team home with six overs to spare and chase down the total of 316 set by England. England skipper Harry Brook chose to bat on a pitch that was described as batting friendly. England's openers seized the day with Ben Duckett playing a fine knock of 95 off 91 balls, just shy of a century. Will Jacks also contributed a well-played 62 to help England post a challenging total of 315 runs. However, it was Australia's spinners that took the game away from England by breaking the momentum. Seven of England's middle and lower order batter fell for just 83 runs. His unbeaten 154 became the base for Australia to successfully chase down.
