On March 18, the New Zealand batter Tim Seifert unleashed his monster mode against Pakistan's prime fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, hitting him four sixes in an over, mugging up at least 26 runs in it. Shaheen himself contributed 22 runs down the order. Apprantly a tough chase, the Kiwis eased it thanks to Seifert's 45 runs that set the base of the chase. Shaheen got his skills right as he troubled Seifert in the early overs, until the later got the best of it in his next overs. The annihilation started when Finn Allen smacked three sixes off Mohammad Ali, and two sixes from Seifert. Shaheen started the third over but was immediately put under pressure as Seifert smashed two sixes off his first two deliveries. His line and length were off, allowing the New Zealand opener to capitalize. While Shaheen tried to regain control in the next two balls, Seifert was relentless. The assault continued as Seifert launched the final two deliveries out of the ground, taking New Zealand to 44 runs in just three overs. Shaheen’s over went for 26 runs, a decisive moment in the match. Pakistan, batting first in a rain-shortened 15-over match, struggled early as Ben Sears and Jacob Duffy picked up quick wickets. Skipper Salman Agha fought back with 46 off 28 balls, while Shadab Khan (26) and Shaheen Afridi (22*) added crucial late runs to take Pakistan to 135/9. In response, New Zealand's aggressive start ensured a comfortable chase with the likes of Allen and Seifert. Despite Haris Rauf’s 3/20, contributions from Daryl Mitchell (14) and Mitchell Hay (21) sealed the win with 11 balls to spare.
