Sri Lanka's Nuwan Thushara made an instant impact in the second T20I against New Zealand in Dambulla by sending Tim Robinson back to the pavilion for a golden duck on the very first ball of the innings. Thushara bowled a perfect inswinging yorker that Robinson was totally caught off guard with. The delivery swung in sharply, avoiding Robinson's bat, and crashed into the base of the off stump. There was nothing the New Zealand opening batsman could do to answer back to this perfect delivery and he got dismissed for a duck leaving his team in an early setback. The early breakthrough gave Sri Lanka momentum, and Thushara set the tone for what looked to be an exciting contest.
