South African skipper Temba Bavuma stunned Lahiru Kumara with a flying six on Day 2 of the 1st Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka at Kingsmead, Durban. This incredible shot came on the 5th ball of the 42nd over when Lahiru Kumara, the Sri Lankan pacer, bowled a short pitch delivery to Bavuma The Proteas skipper was well aware of the tactics, and he made some room outside the leg-stump to hammer an upper-cut with both his feet in the air. The ball sailed over the third-man boundary for a six. Bavuma earned a lot of praise not only for the flying upper cut, but also for the way he handled the extra bounce. No other batters apart from him could even manage to score more than 25 runs. This was only the third Test fifty for Bavuma in 16 Test innings against Sri Lanka and it came on the much needed occassion while his team was struggling to post a respectable total. Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara bagged 3 wickets each for Sri Lanka while Vishwa Fernando and Prabath Jayasuriya managed to scalp 2 wickets each. This is South Africa's 2nd lowest total in 1st innings against Sri Lanka in Test, while the third lowest against Sri Lanka at home.
